Plastics of various kinds are an integral part of everyday life. Chemically, they are made up of long molecular chains called polymers. Various methods are used to better understand these, but so far only a few from computer science and robotics. This is where the Research Training Group (RTG) comes in. The aim is to combine the methods of computer science and robotics more closely with polymer science. This should help to develop polymers in a more targeted and efficient way for new materials and substances. As a PI, Prof. König-Ries will supervise both RTG PhDs and associated students. One focus will be the further development of Knowledge Graphs for the copolymer domain.
